Dave Gottwald is a designer and design historian. His research explores the theming of consumer spaces and interplay between the built and the virtual. Along with Gregory Turner-Rahman, he was recipient of the 2019 Design Incubation Writing Fellowship for their current collaboration, Theme Parks, Video Games, and Evolving Notions of Space: The End of Architecture (forthcoming, Intellect Books). He is also co-author of Disney and the Theming of the Contemporary Zoo: Kingdoms of Artifice (forthcoming, Lexington Books). He is an Associate Professor in the College of Art & Architecture at the University of Idaho where he teaches interaction design, experiential design for the built environment, and exhibit design.

Gregory Turner-Rahman is a designer and writer-illustrator. His current research and creative activity explores both the intersections of physical and virtual spaces and visual and experiential storytelling. In 2019, he and Dave Gottwald were recipients of the Design Incubation Writing Fellowship for their collaboration, Theme Parks, Video Games, and Evolving Notions of Space: The End of Architecture (forthcoming, Intellect Books). He has also contributed to The Journal of Design History, Post-Identity, Fibreculture and Media Authorship, an edited American Film Institute Reader published by Routledge. As a member of a creative team, he garnered Apex and Clarion awards for writing and design work. He is a Professor in the Department of Digital Technology and Culture at Washington State University.

Vahid Vahdat is an architect, interior designer, and historian of architecture and urban form. His primary field of research is the global circulation of modern architecture, with an emphasis on medial agency. He is the author of Occidentalist Perceptions of European Architecture in Nineteenth Century Persian Travel Diaries—Travels in Farangi Space. Dr. Vahdat has held academic positions in the US and abroad, including at the University of Houston and Texas A&M University. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Design and Construction at Washington State University. His teaching primarily involves explorations in architectural media, including virtual interiorities and filmic expressions of space.
